What's the Preferred Term - 6/6/2011

Recap from last post: Last time we had no responses, so we will remain using "acropleuron" for the class "HAO:0001155: The area that corresponds with the site of origin of the third mesopleuro-mesonotal and first mesopleuro-third axillary sclerite of fore wing muscle" and the term "basitarsal comb" for the class "HAO:0001180: The row of setae that extends along the ventral margin of the probasitarsus".

For this week:

DEFINITION: The spiracle that is located dorsally on the border between the mesopectus and the metapectus.

TERM OPTIONS: metathoracic spiracle, posterior thoracic spiracle, second spiracle



ID: HAO:0001665


DEFINITION: The sulcus that is longitudinal and extends posteriorly of the first abdominal spiracle.

TERM OPTIONS: paraspiracular sulcus, postspiracular sulcus, spiracular sulcus, spiracular sulcus of propodeum
